Having a look at ATI’s most basic product featuring DirectX 11 support for Windows 7 & Windows Vista. The 5450 isn’t going to break any extreme gaming records, but what it will do is provide better than onboard performance, while not breaking the bank.

Y does everyone say this card isn’t for gaming? I play cod 6, crysis, farcry 2 and what not on a 23″ LED monitor with all max graphics and 60 fps minimum,y quad core 3 ghz processor helps that but u know

Since you are beginner like me you won’t notice any difference between a Fire GL and a gaming card. Im sure a 5770 will be fine for simple tasks as learning.

@Paskatomten Thank you very much for your advice… I do not play games and I want to learn 3d and card, so should I go for a firegl or a radeon 5770 will do for half the price? Or should I buy and entry level firegl? Because it is confusing, some say there is no difference between an entry level ws card and a good gaming card what do you think?

It works for CAD. But a Fire GL card would probably be 10 times faster.
But if you are just a home user and not working with it on daily basis this card will do just fine.
And if you are into 3D models in CAD you should get a Fire GL or a faster card like a Radeon 5770 with atleast 1gb memory.

No. This card is not for gaming and to run GTA4 you need a decent card like the Radeon 5770 or higher and a quad core CPU.

No. THis card is not for gaming. Its only good for things that requires little GPU power. Like working with graphics you get superb quality that beats older generations of graphics cards in terms of image quality but lacks the GPU power for gaming.

Actually the store price of GTX480 is 10% lower than HD5970 and the performance is 30% lower.
And if you pay £300 for a GTX 480 on eBay you will most likely get a bag of bricks.
